Packing bulky items for travel
Are you traveling and have a bluky item you just don’t know how to pack? I have the best solution for you!
Traveling with a family means lots of clothes, and sometimes items for kids that are just super bulky to take with (think: favorite blanket your kid just can’t sleep without).
After years of chiropractic appointments, and massage threapy for my neck and shoulders I finally found the #1 pillow for me. Even though our family travels about 4-6 months a year, I cannot travel without my pillow. I can have a horrible bed in a hotel and if I have this pillow it’ll help so much. This is the one item that I’ll sacrifice space in my backpack for (on yea by the way we travel with only 1 backpack per person). So that’s a big deal.

This is the pillow I use, and I’m sharing the valuable information on how I travel with it and still save space. I have friends that picked up this pillow just to have at home, and it’s changed their necks. So don’t just take my word-the reviews speak for it.

So how do I travel with my pillow?
I use a travel vacuum pump & reusable vacuum seal bags. This has been a huge lifesaver. See the video below for how I am able to get the pillow super small and ready to go in my bag. Simply choose the right vacuum bag size, put your items in as flat as possible. Then push the air out with your hands carefully. Use the vacuum machine to suck out all the remaining air to get it as flat as possible. Be sure to not to push it too hard or pop the bag. Push the air out very slowly. When you’re finishing double check that the bag is sealed and there’s no more air to be removed. When you travel bring the pump with you so you can do the same on the way home. Bring a few extra bags in your suitcase in case you want to bring something home, decide to such the air out of your clothes/coats, or a bag pops for some reason.
