Valley of Fire - Roadtrip from Las Vegas for Martian Land Formations & Epic Desert Hiking
Discover Utah's Valley of Fire on a Roadtrip through this otherworldly desert landscape!
We had an incredible road trip from Las Vegas to Valley of Fire State Park! The park is just a short hour's drive from the glittering Strip. As we entered, we were immediately struck by the vibrant red sandstone formations that seemed to glow in the sunlight.
Our first stop was the iconic Fire Wave trail, a 1.5-mile hike that led us to stunning striped rock formations. We also couldn't miss Mouse's Tank Road, where we snapped countless photos of the picturesque desert landscape. For a less crowded experience, we ventured to the Beehives and Arch Rock, which offered unique geological wonders without the crowds.
For some post-hike relaxation, we headed back into Las Vegas and checked into our appointments at The Spa at Encore. It’s a beautiful spa that offers a variety of massages and treatments, along with excellent facilities, including our favorite…a serene co-ed tranquility room! Be sure to book your reservation at least a few days in advance.
Speaking of Vegas, our stay at The Wynn was absolutely luxurious. The elegant rooms and impeccable service made it the perfect base for our adventure. We love their outdoor pool scene as well.
We like Las Vegas for many reasons…one being that there are little speakeasies hidden throughout hotels off the strip. One of our favorites is Best Friend by Roy Choi tucked just off the main casino floor at Park MGM. It has a lively and vibrant atmosphere featuring a fusion of Korean and Mexican flavors. The Kogi Short Rib Tacos and Garlic Chicken are must-tries.
This trip truly combined the best of both worlds - the natural wonders of Valley of Fire and the indulgent experiences of Las Vegas. We can't wait to return!
